Drafting Patterns

While drafting a pattern with paper is in no way a new concept, there is a novel whimsy to using it for the purposes of making garments for our little mice friends. And, designing a garment for mice come with a unique set of challenges not seen in humans — I could not find a dress form that resembled the body type of Jaq or Gus-Gus. As such, techniques like draping are out of the window, and (unless your chittering companions are especially cooperative) multiple fittings are questionable.
Given these restraints, I decided to use graph paper to draft patterning and test out constructions. This was done to allow for ease of measuring, but one must remember the rigidity of the paper is quite different than most fabrics so one should not expect the same amount of structure in the finished garment.
